Congratulations, Zagabeenie! You've stumbled on something that reveals the depth, richness, and integrity of the Action Jones Universe. What appears as inconsistency only does so due to a lack of knowledge, but that is not at all a failure on your part. You'll see that what was made known to you through the media only scratches the surface of one of the possible versions of the truth. I'll get to that, but, first, let me philosophize concerning my above statement about inconsistency.
Aristotle said, "One cannot say of something that it is and that it is not in the same respect and at the same time," thereby establishing what is now known as the Law of Noncontradiction.
The Action Jones Universe is legally constrained, then, to be logical. There is no such thing as inconsistencies in the fabric of Action Jones time. Luckily for me, I don't have to search very far to find some logical explanations for this apparent inconsistency, else I might have to devote more time than I should to solving this mystery. I shall throw some possibilities at you and leave it at that.
Kortzakoff is deceptive, as you know. It would not be beyond him to masquerade as someone else whom the Chief was seeking to devise a plan to get unethical use/rid of Action Jones. Also, Kortzakoff employs numerous henchmen and cronies. Perhaps, one of them might have made the contact with the Chief under a different company name. Remember, the media does not always reveal everything concerning the truth.
Regardless of whether this next statement proves to have any import to the question at hand, it has been verified as to its own legitimacy. A few months ago, I contracted a team of some of the best behavioral physcologists in the region to analyze some clips of Chief. Judging by changes in the pattern of his speech, decision-making, posture, hygiene, visible emotions, etc., they have concluded that the Chief's mind is degrading. Their current theory is that his pending descent into what might be considered moderate senility bordering on mild insanity is genetic. They are currently in the process of searching for elder family relatives to observe. Their prognosis is that, barring psychological treatment and retirement, Chief's condition will only progress.
Who knows, perhaps the Chief simply forgot all about Kortzakoff? Frequently, the best choice is the simplest one.
We may never find the true explanation, but my guess is that circumstances may arise which clear up confusion. The media does have some good points; it keeps viewers aware of current world affairs. So, stay tuned with an active mind, and don't forget to bring me any questions you might have.
